From the front, we could see a long line of people waiting. We thought about going to a different venue, but fortunately we were called. Food and the atmosphere at Commander's Palace is terrific!
We ate here last Thursday.
The food and drinks were very good.
Extensive wine list (perhaps too many to choose from).
I'd suggest dressing up for this place- no jeans, and most men wore blazers.
One person at our table of 8 had to send his steak back for being cooked a bit too long, but the waitress agreed with my friend and was very cool about it.
The bill was high, but not much higher than expected as it was a fine dining establishment.
I rank it at 4 stars, but very close to 5.

My favorite New Orleans restaurant. Not just excellent food, a unique dining experience.

Very classy...greated warmly by the whole staff. Food and service were excellent. Recommendations made by the server were fabulous from cocktails to dessert. Turtle soup, fois gras, veal tenderloin, pecan crusted drum fish, bread pudding souffle, apple crisp. Yum.

The best place for an occasion or just awesome meal. The food was excellent. It is very consistent and has a great selection of Cajun and New Orleans specialities.

As good as it gets for fine New Orleans food. Professional staff and the prices are not too bad for high-end food. Lots of good menu choices, both for dinner and dessert. Good idea to go for lunch.

This place is a legend. The food and service is always awesome, but I went here the other day an was reminded as to why this place is an institution. The bread pudding souflee is a MUST. I highly recommend this place.
